 Persistence Of Vision
The Persistence of VisionTM Ray-Tracer creates three-dimensional, photo-realistic images using a rendering technique called ray-tracing. It reads in a text file containing information describing the objects and lighting in a scene and generates an image of that scene from the view point of a camera also described in the text file. Ray-tracing is not a fast process by any means, but it produces very high quality images with realistic reflections, shading, perspective and other effects

Ray tracing program in Java is an ongoing project. Java programmers and beta testers seem to be needed here in what began as a student assignment. To use this program you need Java installed and understand bat files as it does not have an install program.
You will also need the "Java Advanced Imaging" codecs to be able to save the images
computed by Raja. See: http://www.java.sun.com/products/java-media/jai/
(You actually only need the jai_codec.jar file from the JAI library.)
